PKR unveils new tournament schedule

"Our new tournament schedule is all about giving our players exactly what they want: more choices, more fun and more chances to win," said Neil Wright, cardroom manager. "We want to show players that we really are committed to providing a poker experience like no other. Our new blinds and payout structure, combined with increased guaranteed prize pools will allow PKR.com to do exactly that."

The revamped schedule will include more player favorites like lower buy-in multi-table sit-and-gos and satellites to major events, as well as offering new and enhanced tournaments, freerolls and satellites.

According to a PKR press release, the new tournament structure is one of the most complete online poker tournament offerings anywhere on the Web and will ensure players get even more value for their money.

The structure of the tournaments has been modified to encourage more skillful play and a wider variety of deep-stacked big buy-in tournaments have been added.

"The introduction of antes adds another dimension to tournaments, making late-stage play even more exciting," said the PKR press release.

PKR's weekends are getting bigger too with the addition of big-money guaranteed touranmetns like the Saturday Showdown and Sunday Classic.

The Saturday Showdown is a $55 buy-in tournament with a $20,000 guaranteed prize pool. The Sunday Classic will offer players a shot at a $25,000 guaranteed prize pool for a $65 buy-in. There will also be a $10,000 Premium freeroll added to the mix to reward loyal players.

Changing up the tournament even more are the introduction of Phase, Terminator and Terminator Xtreme tournaments. PKR has also added even more satellites to bigger events, including the daily $10,000 guaranteed tournament.

PKR is also making the tournaments even bigger. The monthly $50,000 guaranteed tournament has now been upgraded to become the monthly PKR Masters' $75,000 guaranteed tournament. Players get a $5,000 starting stack for a $250 buy-in. They can also win their way in through satellites for as little as $1.28.

"With smaller buy-ins and more ways to enter, players will now have even more chances to play for bigger prizes," PKR said.
